The Sennelier oil pastel uses the same ingredients found in all Sennelier colours, including premium pigments, an incredibly pure synthetic binding agent, and mineral wax. An inert, non-siccative binding medium that does not oxidise and has no impact on the surface or film stability is used to grind the pigments. Wax is then combined with this base (neutral pH). This mixture's harmony gives Sennelier oil pastels a creamy feel that gives artists a lot of creative freedom.
With the exception of metallic and fluorescent, the Sennelier oil pastels have an incredibly high pigment concentration, giving them great brightness, a high degree of light stability, and a high level of colour and covering possibilities.
