Since more than a century ago, Kordofan Gum Arabic, a premium bonding agent, and premium pigments have been used to create L'Aquarelle Sennelier. In addition to serving as a preservative, the honey used in L'Aquarelle Sennelier also serves as an ingredient that gives the paint more shine and smoothness. In order to strengthen the durability, brilliance, and luminosity of the colours, Sennelier has revised its watercolour formula and increased the amount of honey.
The colour scheme retains that of the Impressionists, and the paint is created in France according to traditional techniques, staying true to Sennelier's beginnings. The conventional method of grinding each colour uses grindstones that rotate slowly to prevent overheating the paste. The process is repeated multiple times to get the paste as smooth as possible, removing any impurities that can affect the wash's ability to flow freely.
